Various cousins & family joined Granny and Grandpere on Whisky during the summer of 1957. Anne Carter and David Boyer were 16 at the time, and the stories, culminating in a fire set at the foot of Whiskey have gone down in family history. Also Sports Illustrated came to the River and did an article for the magazine.  Jesse looked into it and we will be receiving copies of it which I will scan and post here.

QUESTION – I have some other letters to scan that mention the summer. I seem to have been there are need some help remembering things. I have a memory of going to Clayton in the Pan with David. And it started sinking. I remember David comforting me as the water rose up my legs. Then a boat stopped to help us and towed it to Clayton. Anne, do you have a memory of this?
